At CamSpam, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

Overview

CamSpam is designed with privacy in mind. Your photos are your personal data, and we take their protection seriously. This policy covers what data we access, how we process it, and your rights regarding your information.

Information We Access

CamSpam accesses the following information on your device:

Camera: To capture photos directly within the app
Photo Library: To scan and organize your existing photos
Photo Metadata: Capture dates, file types, and dimensions for organization purposes

AI-Powered Photo Classification

How AI Classification Works:

When you enable AI classification, your photos are securely transmitted to our AI service provider for analysis. The AI examines each photo to determine if it's a temporary "spam" photo (screenshot, receipt, document, etc.) or a meaningful memory.

Key points about AI processing:

Photos are transmitted securely using encryption
Photos are processed in real-time and immediately discarded after classification
Photos are NOT stored on external servers
Photos are NOT used to train AI models
You can disable AI classification at any time in Settings
With AI disabled, the app uses basic on-device analysis with reduced accuracy

Data Storage

Local Storage: All photos managed by CamSpam are stored locally on your device in the app's private storage area. Photos moved to CamSpam remain on your device only.

No Cloud Sync: CamSpam does not upload your photos to cloud storage. There is no account system or cloud backup feature.

Analytics and Crash Reporting

We collect anonymous usage data to improve the app:

Usage Analytics: Feature usage, app performance metrics, and general usage patterns (via Amplitude)
Crash Reports: Error logs and crash data to identify and fix bugs (via Sentry)
Install Attribution: How you discovered CamSpam (via AppsFlyer)

            Your Choice: You can opt out of analytics tracking at any time in the app's Settings. When you opt out, no usage data is collected.
        

Analytics data does NOT include:

Your actual photos or their contents
Photo metadata or personal information
Precise location data

Third-Party Services

CamSpam uses the following third-party services:

AI Service Provider: For photo classification (when enabled)
Amplitude: For anonymous usage analytics
Sentry: For crash reporting and error tracking
AppsFlyer: For install attribution
Apple App Store: For subscription billing

Each service operates under its own privacy policy and is contractually prohibited from accessing your photos.

Data Sharing

We do NOT sell, rent, or share your personal data or photos with third parties for marketing purposes. Data is only shared as described in this policy (analytics, crash reporting) and only in anonymized form.

Data Retention

Photos: Retained on your device until you delete them or they auto-delete based on your chosen schedule
Analytics: Retained for up to 12 months in anonymized form
Crash Reports: Retained for up to 90 days

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access and export your data from the app
Delete your data by uninstalling the app
Opt out of analytics tracking in Settings
Disable AI classification in Settings
Revoke camera and photo library permissions via iOS Settings
Request information about data processing by contacting us

Children's Privacy

CamSpam is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:

Right to know what personal information is collected
Right to delete personal information
Right to opt-out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell data)
Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights

International Users

If you are accessing CamSpam from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be processed in the United States where our servers and third-party service providers are located.

Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
Secure storage on your device using iOS data protection
No persistent storage of photos on external servers

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, through in-app notifications.
